I see your faith by your works! (part 2) James 2:18

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!
Yesterday the topic was faith without works.  Did you understand what James is saying, and then it was reinforced in Matthew?  Let us look at James 2:18 today.
James 2:18  King James Version (KJV)    18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Take a look at Romans 3:27-28:
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Many religions require specific duties that must be performed to make a person acceptable to a god.  Christianity is different in that no good deed that we do will make us right with God.  Nothing we can do, no amount of achievement or personal goodness will close the gap between God's moral perfection and our imperfect daily performance.
Good deeds are important; they don't give us eternal life; we are saved by faith!!  Faith is simply believing Jesus is God's son, sent to be crucified and shed His blood for our sins, and our acceptance of HIM - period!!
Saved by faith!  Why faith?  Faith alone: a. eliminates the pride of human effort (faith is not a deed we do); b. faith exalts what God has done, not what we do; c. faith admits that we can't keep the law or measure up to God's standards (we need help); d. faith is based on our relationship with God, not our performance for God.
   Do you have F A I T H ?
In Christ's Love and Grace
