Some of us are like eggs.........(why? at the bottom)
I had a strong concern yesterday and it lingers yet with me this morning. When I woke, my thoughts went to the people, men and women, who we have that are living on the streets with a freezing cold front here and getting colder.
I spoke to this in my other blog, JohnnyBdaily is you wish to view it.
Matthew 25:34-36 New King James Version (NKJV) 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
Sometimes, we, who have a home, a car, a job, an income, fail to look at our "neighbor" who is struggling. It is easy to say, well they chose that life, it is their fault. For some, yes, for many others NO!
Some were introduced to alcohol or drugs and did so as an experiment. Then got hooked. We, the "fat" American society tend to look down on these people, yet we are hooked on eating. Is not overeating wrong? Pastors in the pulpit point fingers at drug addicts, alcoholism, smoking, sexual immorality, prostitution, yet they are overweight and in poor shape. Is not our body the temple of God? Shouldn't we keep the temple clean? Yet do we?
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
What can you do to help the needy? First, become their friend and see their need. Share your faith by your walk, don't force Jesus on them. Jesus did not make people follow Him; people just saw something special in Jesus and wanted what he had. You are made in HIS image, may you do the same and let others follow you to Jesus through your walk.
Oh, why are some like an egg......because they are no good to anyone until they are broken! Sometimes this relates to our lives. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
