What inheritance will you leave behind? (cont.)

Hello all! Welcome.  These thoughts are continued from www.johnnybdaily.blogspot.com and Nov. 9, 2013 date, what inheritance will you leave behind?
First;  Ephesians 6:17   Living Bible (TLB)
17 And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God.
In our Christian life we battle daily the evil forces of fallen angels lead by satan.  To be prepared, we must depend on God's strength and use every piece of his armor.  Here, Paul is counseling the church and all Christians, the body of Christ, everywhere.  The whole body needs to be armed and fight with the strength and power provided by the Holy Spirit.
Second;   2 Corinthians 2:17  Living Bible (TLB)
17 Only those who, like ourselves, are men of integrity, sent by God, speaking with Christ’s power, with God’s eye upon us. We are not like those hucksters—and there are many of them—whose idea in getting out the Gospel is to make a good living out of it.
This is telling us we need to separate from the world, stay close to God, and we should not spread the word of God just for monetary gain, but out of sincerity, out of integrity, and being led by the Holy Spirit, to bring others to salvation.  Just remember, we cannot save others, but we can share with them the path of salvation; God does the saving through Jesus Christ His Son.
And finally;   James 1:22   Living Bible (TLB)
22 And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. So don’t fool yourselves.
Here is the tough part - TO OBEY!  It is important to listen to what God's word says, but it is much more important to bey it and to do what it says.  Do you?  I mean, do you really?  I slip daily, probably hourly, however, I have to keep remembering I am a Saint who sins, thanks to my salvation through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.
How do I measure this in my life?  Measure by the effect it has our your behavior and your attitude.  Do you put into action what you have studied?
Okay, let us recap here.  First, put on the armor God has provided for us.  Then, separate yourself from the world, but a person of integrity and make a living of sharing the word of salvation.  Finally, study the word and be not just readers or hearers of the word, but doers of the word as well.
Your legacy, my friend, is to share the priceless word of God to your family and neighbors, opening the door of salvation to all you encounter.  Love you all.
    In Christ's Love and Grace
        Johnny
